A month-to-month reflection on the most surprising year of my life

In January, after bringing in the new year at a mansion in the Hamptons, my wife and I set goals for the rest of the year, I turned 28, and I went on my annual ski trip with my best friends.

In February, I stopped by Proper Cloth in SoHo for some custom suiting, saw Rick Ross perform at a wealth-building event in Carnegie Hall, and Kaylee performed in a Salsa group even though she was 5 months pregnant!

In March, I attended a healthcare tech conference in Orlando, met up with some fellow career-creators at Google's offices in New York, and we had our baby shower in Brooklyn.

In April we flew up our wedding photographer for a pregnancy shoot, I met Ryan Serhant in a $30M+ condo, and I flew back home to give away the first Colin Rocker Scholarship!

In May, I traveled to DC for a workshop, lost my job a week before I had a baby, and spent a lot of time wondering WTF I was going to do next.

In June, I networked my ass off trying to create some opportunities and did my best to balance work with my new responsibilities at home (bye-bye paternity leave).

In July, we watched the fireworks on the west side highway, flew to South Carolina with a 2-month old for some beach and family time, and threw my annual Free Pizza Meetup in Central Park (which involved me carrying 20+ pizzas about a half-mile or so in 90-degree weather).

In August I toured the UN Headquarters, did my best to avoid the Dad-bod, and met the Mayor of NYC!

In September, I was invited to Los Angeles for a professional conference, I flew to Cincinnati Ohio to expand my network (and hear Big Sean talk about reinvention) and was invited to Meta NYC to hear Jessica Alba and others speak on protecting teens and children on social media. And Kaylee and I went on our first date night in 3 months!

In October I continued to get invited to attend some incredible events where I met awesome creators, entertainers, and entrepreneurs and delivered my first international talk in London.

In November, I cried, danced, and revealed my deepest insecurities to complete strangers at a Tony Robbins seminar and saw the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. I also signed my first book deal!

And in December, I announced my in-person meetup club, For The Firsts, celebrated Isaiah's first Christmas, and made time to reconnect with family and friends.

This year had some incredible challenges. But through it all, I challenged myself to show up consistently for you all (and myself) with value and honest authenticity. And I started to do the work to understand and let go of my own limiting beliefs about who I am and what I'm capable of.

If this year has taught me anything, is that the life you want will cost the one you're currently living.

I can't help but smile at the journey I've been on this past year, but to get here took me surrendering my current idea of who I was in order to create the space for the person I'm becoming.

And I hope you moved closer to your ideal life in 2024 as well.

If you'd like some help getting there, I'm having a Goal Planning Summit on Sunday, Jan 5th for everyone who picks up my Goal Planning Guide.

This is the last edition of The Weekly All-Hands

(kind of.)

Given everything else I've got going on right now, in 2025 this will become a monthly newsletter instead of once per week.

You can catch up on old editions here, and I'll see you at the end of January!
