"What truly matters most"
Kaylee and I typically spend Christmas Day with our families down in Georgia, so yesterday, we decided to celebrate a little early and have a cozy Christmas morning at home with Isaiah.
We've done this ever since we got married, but this was our first Christmas with the baby.
Kaylee and I got some really nice things for one another, but I found myself way more excited about watching Isaiah open his gifts, instead.
Granted, he discovered he had hands a month ago so we had to help him tear the paper a little, but the way his face lit up when he saw his new toys was priceless.
Watching him reach for his gifts, chew on the wrapping paper, and be more interested in the boxes and bags the toys came in than the toys themselves at first brought me a lot of happiness.
This year has had its share of challenges, but celebrating Christmas fully present with Isaiah and Kaylee reminded me why I keep pushing forward and what truly matters most.
